The FIFA Master is a unique 10-month sport (and not solely football...) Master programme, initiated by FIFA, coordinated by CIES, and taught by three prestigious European universities: De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, IT) and Neuchatel University (Neuchatel, CH), in association with the Università della Svizzera italiana.
Bahcesehir University is proud to hold the second year of its Sport Management MBA Program and FIFA/CIES Sport Management Certificate Program with a twist.
Bahcesehir University is integrating its Sport Management MBA program with the FIFA/CIES Sport Management certificate program. Students will be able to choose from three options:
1- Only the certificate
2- Only the master’s degree (upon the completion of requirements such as ALES –Graduate Education Test)
3- Have both the certificate and the master’s degree.
The Turkish Football Federation will be the official sponsor of the FIFA/CIES Sport Management Certificate Program where they will grant full scholarships to 15 students.
In order to be qualified for the program and the scholarships, a committee of five persons will interview applicants on September 24, 2009. The scholarship will cover the charge of the certificate program and if the student were to continue his/her education with the master’s program, additional scholarships will apply.
Sessions will last 14 weeks each with 3 hours a week. The first term will start at the end of September and will finish at the end of January. Second term will start at the end of February and will finish in the middle of June.
CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies), located in Neuchatel, is a private Swiss foundation, affiliated with the University of Neuchatel and created in 1995 by FIFA (under the impetus of its current president, Mr. Joseph S. Blatter), the University of Neuchatel, and the City and Canton of Neuchatel.
CIES specialises in three specific domains: law, sociology and economy of sport, with a view to bring together the sporting and the academic worlds. Privileging a pluri-disciplinary approach, CIES provides a wide range of research, education and consultancy services.
