The FIFA Master is a unique 10-month sport (and not solely football...) Master programme, initiated by FIFA, coordinated by CIES, and taught by three prestigious European universities: De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, IT) and Neuchatel University (Neuchatel, CH), in association with the Università della Svizzera italiana.

Last week, several students of the first edition of the Programme in sport management met the FIFA President at the inauguration of the new technical centre of the Egyptian Football Association.
The students thanked Mr Blatter for the various projects carried out by FIFA in the field of academic education. They particularly stressed the role that FIFA plays in the improvement of the management of sport organisations in Africa, within the framework of the “Win in Africa with Africa” initiative.
One of the students, Taha Mohamed Diaey, commented: "Hosting the FIFA/CIES programme in Egypt is indeed a great opportunity. It challenges our perception of sport management, and it makes us eager to develop our knowledge. As regards the meeting with the FIFA President, it shows how much the International Federation cares about the education of sport managers. This was confirmed by the fact that three students have participated in the organisation of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt”.
For his part, the FIFA President greeted the partnership between CIES and the Cairo University: “It is very rewarding to see a new generation of young managers – women and men aware of their responsibilities – play an active role in the sporting world”.
The Cairo University will start the second edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management on 6 December 2009.

Plusieurs étudiants de la Première édition du Programme de management sportif au Caire ont rencontré le Président de la FIFA lors de l’inauguration du nouveau centre technique de la Fédération Egyptienne de Football la semaine passée.
Les étudiants ont remercié M. Blatter des projets de la FIFA dans le domaine de l’éducation académique. Ils ont notamment salué son rôle pour l’amélioration de l’administration des organisations sportives sur le continent dans le cadre de l’initiative « Gagner en Afrique avec l’Afrique ».
L’un d’entre eux, Taha Mohamed Diaey, a déclaré “C’est une grande chance pour l’Egypte que d’accueillir le Programme FIFA/CIES. Il nous donne l’occasion de changer notre perception du management sportif et l’envie d’en apprendre d’avantage. Quant à notre rencontre avec le Président de la FIFA, elle nous a montré l’intérêt que la Fédération Internationale porte à l’éducation des managers sportifs. Cela a été confirmé par le fait que trois étudiants du Programme ont pu participer à l’organisation de la Coupe du Monde U-20 de la FIFA Egypte ».
Pour sa part, le Président de la FIFA s’est réjoui du partenariat conclu entre le CIES et l’Université du Caire. « Quel plaisir de voir une nouvelle génération de jeunes managers – femmes et hommes conscients de leurs responsabilités - jouer un rôle actif dans le monde sportif. »
L’Université du Caire commencera le second Programme de management sportif FIFA/CIES le 6 décembre prochain.
CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies), located in Neuchatel, is a private Swiss foundation, affiliated with the University of Neuchatel and created in 1995 by FIFA (under the impetus of its current president, Mr. Joseph S. Blatter), the University of Neuchatel, and the City and Canton of Neuchatel.
