The FIFA Master is a unique 10-month sport (and not solely football...) Master programme, initiated by FIFA, coordinated by CIES, and taught by three prestigious European universities: De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, IT) and Neuchatel University (Neuchatel, CH), in association with the Università della Svizzera italiana.

The Fundacão Getulio Vargas (FGV) and CIES signed last week a partnership contract with a view to organising the FIFA/CIES Sports Management Programme in Brazil as from 2011.
FGV, which is one of the most renowned Brazilian academic institutions for teaching, research, data processing, and consultancy, becomes the 14th partner of the FIFA/CIES International University Network. Thanks to its “FGV Online Portal”, FGV will offer the Programme throughout the whole Brazilian territory where it has many branch offices and partners.
“It is very gratifying to be able to offer a course that will not only allow us to improve the management of sport but also our country, which is one of our key objectives”, explained Prof. Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, President of FGV. Ricardo Terra Teixeira, President of the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) and member of the FIFA Executive Committee further commented that “The support of CBF has been motivated amongst other things by the will to have the FIFA World Cup 2014 leave a legacy in Brazil. The education of sports managers will be part of it.”
FGV was founded in 1944. Its mission embodies advancing the limits of knowledge in the field of social sciences and other related areas by promoting the emergence and transmission of ideas, data and information in order to consolidate and systematize them, so that they can be used to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, the improvement of the national ethical standards, the emergence of a responsible and shared governance as well as to the inclusion of the country within the international community.

La Fundación Getulio Vargas (FGV) y el CIES firmaron un contrato de colaboración la semana pasada con el objetivo de organizar el Programa de Gestión deportiva FIFA/CIES en Brasil a partir de 2011.
La FGV, que es una de las instituciones académicas brasileñas con más prestigio en el ámbito de la enseñanza, la investigación, el tratamiento de la información y la consultoría, se convierte así en el 14º miembro de la Red Universitaria Internacional FIFA/CIES. Gracias a su rama «FGV On-Line», la fundación ofrecerá el Programa en el conjunto del territorio brasileño, donde cuenta con múltiples sedes y colaboradores.
«Tenemos la gran satisfacción de poder proponer un curso que no sólo nos permitirá mejorar la gestión deportiva, sino que también hará progresar a nuestro país, lo cual constituye uno de nuestros objetivos principales» comentó Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, Presidente de la FGV. Por su parte, Ricardo Terra Teixeira, Presidente de la Confederación Brasileña de Futbol (CBF) y miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la FIFA, declaró que «El apoyo de la CBF viene motivado por la voluntad de que la Copa Mundial de la FIFA de 2014 deje un legado en Brasil. La formación de los gerentes deportivos será parte de ese legado.»
Recordemos que la FGV se fundó en 1944 y que su misión consiste en superar los límites del conocimiento en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales y en otros sectores similares, favoreciendo la incubación y la transmisión de las ideas, los datos y la información. También tiene por objetivo consolidar y sistematizar dichos conocimientos para contribuir al desarrollo socioeconómico del país, al avance de las normas éticas nacionales, a la emergencia de una gobernanza responsable y compartida, así como a la integración del país en el concierto de las naciones.

La FGV, qui est une des institutions académiques brésilienne les plus renommées au niveau de l’enseignement, de la recherche, du traitement de l’information et de la consultance, devient le 14ème partenaire du Réseau Universitaire International FIFA/CIES. Grâce à sa branche «FGV On-Line», elle offrira le Programme sur l’ensemble du territoire brésilien où elle compte de nombreux sièges et partenaires.
« C’est une grande satisfaction de pouvoir proposer un cours qui non seulement va nous permettre d’améliorer la gestion sportive, mais aussi de faire progresser notre pays, ce qui est un de nos objectifs principaux » a commenté Prof. Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, Président de la FGV. Pour sa part, Ricardo Terra Teixeira, Président de la Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) et membre du Comité Exécutif de la FIFA, a déclaré que «Le soutien de la CBF est entre autres motivé par la volonté que la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA 2014 laisse un héritage au Brésil. L’éducation des managers du sport constituera une partie de ce legs.»
Rappelons que la FGV a été fondée en 1944. Elle a pour mission de repousser les limites de la connaissance dans les sciences sociales et autres domaines similaires en favorisant l’incubation et la transmission des idées, des données et des informations. Elle a également pour objectif de les consolider et de les systématiser afin de contribuer au développement socio-économique du pays, à l’amélioration des normes éthiques nationales, à émergence d’une gouvernance responsable et partagée ainsi qu’à l’insertion du pays sur la scène internationale.
CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies), located in Neuchatel, is a private Swiss foundation, affiliated with the University of Neuchatel and created in 1995 by FIFA (under the impetus of its current president, Mr. Joseph S. Blatter), the University of Neuchatel, and the City and Canton of Neuchatel.
CIES specialises in three specific domains: law, sociology and economy of sport, with a view to bring together the sporting and the academic worlds. Privileging a pluri-disciplinary approach, CIES provides a wide range of research, education and consultancy services.
