Five FIFA/CIES Programme alumni on their way to the FIFA Master

After an intensive selection procedure, five alumni of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management will take part in the 16th edition of the FIFA Master which will begin in September at De Montfort University in Leicester (England).

At the end of the selection procedure conducted by the Scientific Committee - which started in January 2015 - five alumni of the FIFA/CIES Sport Management Programme (out of 32 students) will attend the FIFA Master. Four of them will share the two scholarships granted by the FIFA/CIES network, namely:

  • Camara David, University of the West Indies, Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago)
  • Bugra Cem Imamogullari, Bahcesehir University, Istanbul (Turkey)
  • Norane Ismail, University of Cairo (Egypt)
  • Hussein Kanso, Notre Dame University-Louaize, Zouk Mosbeh (Lebanon)

Moreover, Ulisses de Almeida Prado Bresciani, an alumnus of the Fundação Getulio Vargas, the academic partner of CIES in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, will also join his classmates to attend the FIFA Master with them in England, Italy and Switzerland during more than 10 months

CIES President Bertrand Reeb expressed his satisfaction with the vitality the FIFA/CIES Network Scholarship brings to CIES activities: “We created the Network Scholarship four years ago. It is an undeniable success given that 11 FIFA/CIES Programme alumni have taken this opportunity to continue their training and enhance their knowledge of sport management. This is a source of satisfaction and motivation for all the members of the FIFA/CIES Network, whether programme managers, module heads, CIES coordinators, teachers, students or alumni.”

The selection of the five new alumni shows the quality of the profiles of FIFA/CIES Programme students as well as the excellent work done by the sixteen partner universities of the FIFA/CIES Network.

These scholarships also illustrate the desire of CIES to build bridges between its different training programmes in order to open new horizons and enrich the academic prospects of students.

Our sincere congratulations to Bugra Cem, Camara, Norane, Hussein and Ulisses. We wish them every success in Leicester, Milan and Neuchâtel!
