FIFA and CIES continue their fruitful collaboration

In the presence of Joseph S. Blatter, FIFA President, Jérôme Valcke, FIFA General Secretary, Bertrand Reeb, CIES President, Denis Oswald, CIES Director, Vincent Schatzmann, CIES General Secretary, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) have signed a new agreement in order to extend their successful collaboration until 2018.

According to Vincent Schatzmann, CIES General Secretary, "the confidence shown by FIFA through this collaboration agreement will allow CIES to continue and develop its different activities, especially the FIFA Master programme in sports management, the International University Network and its 14 universities worldwide, the Sports Observatory, as well as the legal, management and humanities of sport research”.

The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) is an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It was created in 1995 as a joint venture between the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the University of Neuchâtel, the City and State of Neuchatel. Using a multi-disciplinary approach CIES provides research, top-level education and consulting services to the sports world with the aim of overcoming the complexities of sport in today's society and improving how it is governed and managed.
