Start of the second edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Lebanon

Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU), the academic partner of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) in Lebanon since 2012, recently welcomed 14 new students who will attend the second edition of the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management.
 
The Programme was launched in the premises of the Division of Continuing Education (DCE) at NDU, in the presence of Dr Kamal Abou Chedid, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr Roger Hajjar, Director of the DCE, Ezzat Kraytem, Head of the Event Management Module, Joe Yazbeck, head of the Law Module, Nadim Nassif, FIFA/CIES Programme manager at NDU, Wadih Abdelnour, CIES local coordinator in Lebanon, and CIES representative Roland Chavillon.
 
Very recently appointed Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr Kamal Abou Chedid welcomed the presence of this university programme at NDU in light of its acknowledged quality and key objective aimed at professionalising Lebanese sports institutions in the long term.
 
After a brief tour of the Division of Continuing Education premises guided by Director Roger Hajjar, the students immediately got to work with the first classes on sport event management taught by Ezzat Kraytem. He also discussed the terms of the group project that the students will be required to present at the end of the year. For his part, Roland Chavillon explained the characteristics of the FIFA/CIES Network Prize rewarding the best group work in the entire FIFA/CIES International University Network.
 
The 14 students, who come from very different professional and sports horizons, will attend FIFA/CIES Programme classes every Saturday, in English, until June 2015. Welcome to Antoine, Georges, Zahi, Elie, Mohammad, Raed, Pierre-Elie, Ralph, Tarek, Rony, Walid, Elsy and Manal.
