Good luck to Shirley Cruz, alumnus of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Sport Management organised in partnership with the Universidad de Costa Rica, who has been nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award 2020 for the best goal of the year.
Shirley has been shortlisted along with ten other players for this prestigious award that will be presented on 17 December as part of the Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2020.
Her nomination is for the goal she scored in the match between Costa Rica and Panama in the Concacaf Women’s Olympic qualifying on 28 January 2020.
Shirley is a former player with Olympique Lyonnais, with whom she won the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice, and Paris SG. She then returned to Costa Rica in 2019 after a stay in China.
It is worth noting that Shirley has brilliantly combined her exploits on the field and studying since she received her Diploma in Sports Management on 28 September 2020.
