About forty members of the FIFA/CIES International University Network met in Doha from Thursday 8th to Saturday 10th December 2022 during the FIFA Men's World Cup held in Qatar. Many partner universities (Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela) were represented at the event by alumni and various people who are involved in the delivery of the International Programme in Sport Management around the world.
All were able to attend the 'FMA International Sports Conference 2022' held at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday 8th December and also attend lunch on Friday 9th December in the presence of Honey Thaljieh, FIFA Corporate Communications Manager, as well as the CIES President and Secretary General.
In the evening, everyone headed to the Lusail Stadium to watch the quarter-final match between Argentina and the Netherlands. The following morning, the most daring members of the group were able to let off steam on one of the training pitches of the Ahmed Bin Ali stadium by taking part in a friendly football match which was played in good spirits.
The event allowed the members of the FIFA/CIES International University Network to meet in an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of ideas and sporting emotions. It will leave beautiful memories in the minds of all participants.
