At a ceremony organised in the historic Khaly Amar Fall auditorium on 14 January, Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) celebrated the graduation of twenty-eight students who recently completed the 16th edition of the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management. They also officially welcomed forty new students who started classes at the end of 2022.
The event brought together Prof. Mame Samba Mbaye, Vice-Rector of UCAD, Prof. Mountaga Diop, Director of INSEPS, Diamil Faye, General Manager of Jappo Sports & Entertainment, international consultant and Patron of the 16th edition, Louisette Renée Thobi Etame-Ndedi, Secretary General of CONFEJES, Prof. Mbaye Thiam, Spokesperson of UCAD and Master of Ceremonies, as well as representatives from government ministries, the Senegalese sports community and local media.
All of the gathered speakers underlined the importance of training in the field of sport, and in particular, the FIFA/CIES International Programme which has over the years become a reference point in Senegal and the wider region.
For his part, the class Patron for the occasion highlighted the rapid changes and succession of new trends which combine to make the work of sport managers increasingly complex. Managers today will now have to combine theoretical knowledge, practical skills, human qualities, open-mindedness and creativity as they face their responsibilities. These are all skills which we are sure our latest graduates will be able to demonstrate as they build their careers.
CIES warmly congratulates the graduates of the 16th edition of the course in Senegal and welcomes the new students too. For the good of African sport and football.
