What is your current professional activity? and your involvement in sport?
Currently I am supervisor of engineering affairs in a local bank. I am also a jujitsu and boxing player.
Why did you choose to attend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management at Birzeit University?
Because I was seeking to join a course that introduced me to the main topics of sports management. I also enrolled to the Programme because of the credibility of FIFA, CIES and Birzeit University.
What were your expectations before the start of the course? and… were they met?
I expected to learn the general outline of sports management, marketing, law, event management and communication. Yes, I achieved what I was looking for, and acquired not only general information, but also a detailed and comprehensive overview of the main scientific methods.
What would you say are the key strengths of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management?
It is prepared by a specialized academic team from FIFA/CIES, which is reflected within the modules taught. FIFA sends speakers and specialists to present topics to the students, and to connect students to an international network of universities and experts.
What benefits (on a personal and/or professional level) did you gain from attending the course?
On a personal level, it was so important to improve my team-working skills and multi-directional thinking. On a professional level, I was offered a part time job, as a sports project manager.
What is your best memory/highlight of the course?
The guest speakers working with FIFA, who tried to pass to us their experience in sports management either from their careers with FIFA or from experiences in their home countries across the world; the great friendship with teachers and the other students, especially during projects and discussions.
Would you recommend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management? Why?
Of course. As a student, I believe the organizers of the FIFA/CIES Programme try to improve the programme year by year, and to ensure worldwide standards. Also, the universities of the network are among the best universities of the world.
