Two alumni of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme in Argentina are active at Soccerex Connected which takes place from 1 to 5 February 2021. They are Luis Fernando Castro (2010 edition) and Leonardo Piccoli (2012 edition).
Luis Fernando Castro has been involved for more than 20 years in the field of football competitions and is director for development at the Argentinean Football Association (AFA) as well in charge of implementing development strategies at AFA. He is also responsible for the coordination of the event management module of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme. Within the framework of Soccerex Connected, Luis Castro will offer his extensive experience in sports event coordination, as one of the General Coordinators for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup. He will speak on Friday 5 February during the panel dedicated to the upcoming FIFA World Cups.
For his part, Leonardo Piccoli is Director of the Sport Business and Entertainment Division of the Blue Hat agency, where he is in charge of, among other things, "1930 World Cup Conferences & Events", which offers a wide range of consulting services in the areas of event management, media management and historical football research. He also coordinates the event management course of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Executive Programme. It is behind the scenes that Leornardo has been working for Soccerex Connected by taking part in the organisation of the panel dedicated to the "History of World Cups since 1930 - The Origins & Legacy of the "Beautiful Game" which took place on 1 February.
As the two alumni explain, "It is clear that the knowledge and experiences acquired by the students of the FIFA/CIES Executive Programme are increasingly bearing fruit in sport and football".
