INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT
Interview with

Ghadeer Ladaa | graduate 2013

What is your current professional activity? And your involvement in sport?
I studied Architecture Engineering.
I am working at AMIE co. (medical equipment).
I have been a football player since 2006 (I played with the national team from 2007 to 2012).
Football coach with C certificate from AFC (1st place).
Coordinator for the football academy at First Ramallah Group.

Why did you choose to attend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management at Birzeit University?
I wanted to study sport management, first of all to improve my skills in this field because I am a coordinator for a football academy at First Ramallah Group. Secondly, I wanted to help my society to know more about the benefits of sport for the body and for the community by creating sport programmes or projects so that our society will be more healthy and powerful.

What would you say are the key strengths of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management?
Precise and very useful, especially for the development of the current situation in our region.
Directs a segment of young people to pay attention in order to develop the things they are good at.
The difference in ages and expertise within the same group to encourage development and gain new experiences from each other.

What benefits (on a personal and/or professional level) did you gain from attending the course?
It helped me (taught me) how to deal with problems I can be faced with at the academy, with students and their parents, and also with coaches.
I have become more organised in my work.

What is your best memory/highlight of the course?
There are many, like the day we discussed our final projects.
And the activities that we used to do during the sessions to understand the lesson.

Would you recommend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management? Why?
Yes, because it is very useful, especially to develop the field of sport, not only for players and teams, but also for sports institutions and people in charge of them.
