We are pleased to announce that Damian Juszczyk, Polish 1st edition alumnus of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sports Management organized with Kozminski University, has been appointed to the position of Press Officer at Wisła Kraków SA, one of the main football clubs, based in Kraków, Poland. Founded in 1906, Wisła Kraków is one of the oldest and most successful clubs and contends in Ekstraklasa, the top level of Polish professional football.
What does the new position mean to you?
To me, being the press officer means being responsible for the whole image of the club. This is how I understand my duties. Communicating with media, and further with the public, I am the first person to create the general, positive image of Wisła Kraków. This is a big responsibility and at the same time a great honour.
What are your new duties?
Starting with creating website content, coordinating the whole Press Office, taking care of the on-going communication with journalists and managing our social media… Moreover, communication with Wisła’s fans is also a matter of great importance to me. In addition, I am responsible for promotional and marketing activities. And of course, what is the most challenging thing? My job is to react appropriately to current events and any possible crisis. There are also many less spectacular but equally important, everyday duties. In general I must say, that my new position brings me a lot of satisfaction.
Has the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sports Management helped you with fulfilling your new duties?
Undoubtedly the knowledge and experience I gained have helped me with achieving my professional goals and now are helping me in fulfilling my responsibilities properly. That is why I have my fingers crossed for the Programme‘s newcomers, both in Poland and in the whole FIFA/CIES Network, and I wish them every success in following their own sports passions!
