What is your current professional activity? and your involvement in sport?
I am a project manager for a sled dog race called "Baikal Race 2016".
Why did you choose to attend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management at HSE?
Firstly, it was a logical continuation of my current career at that time. My previous employment contract with the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2014 had recently expired. Secondly, I had understood from experience how to arrange a huge sporting event, but I did not known the sport management theory. Moreover, I love sport, enjoy projects and like working with people. I wanted to find all of these on the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management at HSE.
What were your expectations before the start of the course? and… were they met?
I wanted to understand the whole process of mega-event organisation. This was met during my studies at HSE.
What would you say are the key strengths of the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management?
Firstly, high-quality teachers with wide experience in all fields of sport. Secondly, the reputation of HSE as one of the best universities in Moscow. Finally, the diplomas from two academic institutions.
What benefits (on a personal and/or professional level) did you gain from attending the course?
Knowledge, people and experience.
What is your best memory/highlight of the course?
The final project team. It was awesome and challenging.
Would you recommend the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sport Management? Why?
Yes, absolutely. Indeed, it may be useful as well for my former colleagues.
