What is your current professional Activity? And your involvement in sport?
. Deputy Comptroller of Customs (Retired), Managing Partner and CEO of Jahvy International (logistics and e-commerce company)
. Owner and Chairman of the Verdes Football Club, which is a professional club that competes locally in the Premier League of Belize (highest level of football in the country) and we also participate in the CONCACAF Central American Cup - CCAC (which is an annual regional tournament among the Top 20 teams in the Central American Region).
. I am also currently the President of the Premier League of Belize.
 
Why did you choose to study the FIFA/CIES Programme in Sports Management at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus?
I chose to pursue the FIFA/CIES Program in Sports Management at the UWI, St. Augustine Campus because of its renowned reputation for providing a comprehensive and globally recognized education in sports management. This program offered a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical insights into the dynamic world of sports management, which was essential for my career aspiration in the sports industry. Additionally, the program’s emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach, coupled with the esteemed faculty and resources at the UWI, made it the ideal choice to further my education in this field.
 
What were your expectations before the start of the course? And were they met?
Before the start of the course, I had high expectations. I anticipated gaining a deep understanding of sports management principles, learning from industry experts, and developing practical skills that would be immediately applicable in the sports sector. I am pleased to say that my expectations were not only met but exceeded during the course. The program provided a rich learning experience, encompassing a wide range of topics, and the faculty’s expertise and the diverse backgrounds of my peers enriched the learning process. The practical knowledge and networking opportunities I gained exceeded what I initially hoped for, making it an immensely rewarding educational journey.

The courses offered by the FIFA/CIES Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management Program have been instrumental in my knowledge and skill development. What is your best memory / highlight of the course?
One of the standout memories and highlights of the course was undoubtedly the opportunity to deliver the valedictory address at the graduation ceremony on September 8, 2023, at the UWI St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad. It was a moment of immense pride and accomplishment, representing the culmination of my hard work and dedication throughout this program. Speaking in front of peers, faculty, and guests, and sharing insights and experiences gained during the course was a truly memorable and personally fulfilling experience that I will cherish as a significant milestone in my educational journey.
