PROGRAMME IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT
Entrevista con

Filip Adamus │ diplomado 2015

What is your current professional activity? And your involvement in sport?
I am a sports journalist for Canal+ Poland.

Why did you choose to attend the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management?
I like trying new things. The decision was quite spontaneous – I found the programme on the Internet and felt that it could be something for me at this stage of my life. After two semesters I can say that the knowledge I gained is really satisfying.

Do you expect that the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management will help you with your career?
Yes, although it wasn’t my goal at the beginning. The course opened my eyes and broadened my horizons in the field of sport. My professional career has been connected with public relations, communication and marketing. The programme not only helped me to consolidate my knowledge in these fields but also enabled me to learn nuances of law, finance and management. I was surprised at myself taking more notes than during my previous studies in Kraków and Copenhagen.

What benefit did you gain from attending the course?
Inspiration! After classes you simply feel like you want to act; participate in interesting projects and implement your own ideas. While listening to all the lecturers and guest speakers you just think: wow, it is really possible to achieve a lot!

What is your highlight of the course?
In my opinion, the best way to learn is from experience. That is why I listened with interest to Mr Daniel Rupf, who was responsible for EURO 2008 in Zurich, or Mr Robert Korzeniowski, Polish former racewalker and multiple Olympic gold medalist, who coordinated the Corporate Hospitality project during EURO 2012 in Warsaw. Meetings with Jair Bertoni form EPFL or Mateusz Kusznierewicz, a Polish sailor and Olympic gold medalist, were also very creative.

Would you recommend the FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management?
Of course. This programme is for everyone who is interested in sport and wants to combine this field with his or her professional career in any way - no matter how big or small. You learn about the complexities and also the possibilities in the sporting sector. Our group – the first edition in Poland – was diverse and everyone had different experiences connected with sport. This resulted in many interesting discussions. We are still in touch, and who knows, perhaps we will implement some of our joint projects in the near future!
